Plains, Deserts, Anything flat really : It could be nice to hear some wind now and again. I wish there was more ambience in Minecraft, let me explain. A soul sand valley is a dry biome located in the Nether. Based on the biome you are standing in it will play a custom sound. Maybe when you are on a mountain really high up, or really high up in general, you could hear really cold sounding winds. Ever wanted to hear to sounds of nature in Minecraft. Mountains : This would go great with the caves and cliffs update. Jungle : Perhaps when you are deep in a jungle surrounded by trees you could hear different animals and noises in the distance to make you feel truly in the wilderness. I feel like ambience would work in many other places in Minecraft and it would make it feel more like you were actually there exploring your world. One of the my favorite things of the new found fullness, as opposed to the old empty feel to the Nether, was the Ambience. As well as some visual (particle based) effects like Lava Jets, Fireflies and sand blowing in the desert winds. This includes ambient sounds that get played depending of the players immediate surroundings.
